We've been creating sustainable tours for our travelers for years. It was time for us to benefit directly from the benefits of Costa Rican nature.
Our project this year was to select plants that would be beneficial for the air quality in our offices. Well, that's that.
We based our selection on a NASA study: link which lists the most effective plants for combating the many toxic molecules, substances, gases and chemical compounds that pollute our daily lives. These substances are present in all homes and interiors. It includes benzene the formaldehyde, trichloroethylene or the xylene, the toluene or theammonia.
According to the NASA study, some are capable of completely purifying our indoor atmosphere of these invisible poisons.
So, naturally, we decided to equip ourselves not only with plants, but also with cacti. In fact, a French study shows that cacti help reduce the impact of electromagnetic waves emitted by our computers and other screens.
As well as being good for our health, plants and cacti provide visual comfort and beautify the office.
Since the installation of these plants, the atmosphere has become more serene. The beauty of plants is enough to improve our interior. We can't, however, easily measure the impact of chemical compounds on our bodies, but the simple fact of working in a "green" space comforts us.
Don't hesitate to do the same at home. This isn't just for professional spaces. Homes, children's bedrooms, living rooms - in short, the whole house - will benefit.
Our next project
Planting purifying plants in our offices was just the first step.
Each Morpho Evasions employee will now be able to grow his or her own vegetables, medicinal plants and other vegetation directly in the office.
A dedicated space will enable us to store individual tubs including a dozen species. Each person will be responsible for maintaining their plants, harvesting and renewing the shoots.
So we'll have organic vegetables, grown on site, in the office, by our own hands. No pesticides or fertilizers.
In addition to the real benefit of the harvested product and the satisfaction of having succeeded in growing our own plants for daily consumption, there's also the benefit to work performance. Just imagine: a stressful day at work, your eyes glazing over in front of your computer? A quick trip to the garden, and you're off to tend to your plants. It's a real stress-buster. You return to work soothed, and it's your travellers who benefit!
